DR GERMAN FERRER, DMV

Dr. Ferrer obtained his veterinary medicine doctorate from University La Salle in Bogota, Colombia, in 1996.

Five years later, he immigrated to Canada et received additional training at University of Montreal to earn the right to practice in Quebec.

In 2007, he graduated a second time in veterinary medicine. The following year, he completed an Applied Veterinary Sciences Internship (AVSI) in companion animal medicine at the same institution.

In 2010, he got trained in veterinary physiotherapy at University of Tennessee.

Dr. Ferrer worked a first time for Groupe vétérinaire Monvet inc. from 2012 to 2014, and came back in November 2017. He practices mainly at Hôpital vétérinaire du Richelieu inc., but also at Hôpital vétérinaire de l'Est inc., at À Mon Chat, À Mon Chien, Hôpital vétérinaire inc. and at Clinique vétérinaire Au Pied du Mont inc. Dr. Ferrer has a keen interest for surgery.

He lives with Laska, an Highland Lynx breed cat that he adopted from Fondation HVE.

DRE SANDRA BOTELHO

Before obtaining her doctorate in veterinary medicine from the University of Montreal in 2020, Dr. Botelho completed a major in biological sciences. She joined the Hôpital Vétérinaire de L’est team in the spring of 2020. She is particularly fond of geriatric patients, internal medicine, preventive care and soft tissue surgery. She obtained her PennHIP certification in October 2022.

Dr. Botelho lives with a toothless Chihuahua named Marcel and an amputated Pekingese named Bruno, both HVE Foundation rescues.

DR GIANFRANCO VALENT, M.V.

Dr Valent studied veterinary medicine at École nationale vétérinaire d'Alfort in France where he graduated in 1980.

He works for Groupe vétérinaire Monvet inc since July 2017. The reason he came to live in the Montreal area was to join his family.

Dr. Valent pratices small animal medicine and general surgery in the two facilities.

DRE JESSICA BARANELLO, M.V.

Dre Baranello began working at Hôpital vétérinaire de l'Est as a technician's assistant in 2005. 

She graduated from the Faculty of Veterinary at the University of Montreal in 2012 and continued her work at the hospital as a veterinarian.  

Since 2021, she is happy to be serving the neighbourhood she grew up in at Clinique vétérinaire Rivières-des-Prairies. 

She holds a particular interest in preventative medecine, internal medecine, dermatology as well as arthritic pain management.   

She shares her life with her pitbull, Kimi, a rescue from the Fondation HVE.
